There are a lot of different things to learn about Jill Duggar. Some of them are her personal life, her career, and the way her salary is calculated. Let’s get started with those.
Biography
Jill Duggar Dillard is a reality star who is known for her appearance in TLC’s popular show 19 Kids and Counting. She is also a certified professional midwife and a married woman.
She was born on May 17, 1991, in Tontitown, Arkansas. She is the daughter of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Ruark. Her father is a real estate agent, and her mother is a homemaker.
While Jill was still in her teens, her family made it big with the TLC reality series 17 Kids and Counting. The show focuses on the lives of a 19-member family. It has been a success, earning a following of 2.5 million viewers.
The show was followed by the spinoff series, Jill and Jessa: Counting On. Both shows have had their share of controversy. In particular, the show alleged that Dillard was molested by her brother as a child. Fortunately, Dillard claims she did not know about the abuse until her parents revealed it to her.
Counting On salary
Jill Duggar Dillard made a big splash when she made her debut on the TLC show “19 Kids and Counting” back in 2008. She’s since appeared on a spinoff series called “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” and even co-authored a book with her sister, Jessa.
However, her fame didn’t always translate into a pay check. While she’s earned money from social media and YouTube ads, she didn’t actually receive compensation from the Counting On franchise until last year.
It’s not surprising, then, that she’s become the latest member of the Duggar family to come out and talk about how they’ve not been paid. In fact, her sisters have also taken to the spotlight, claiming to earn large sums of money off of their own TV shows.
For example, Jill and her husband, Derick, claim they’ve recovered thousands of dollars from their stint on “Counting On”. They also say they’ve been compensated for a couple of trips abroad, as well as for groceries they received for free from production.
Career as a certified professional midwife
In addition to helping new parents welcome their newborn, a career as a certified professional midwife involves helping pregnant women during labor and delivery. Amid the emotional stress of childbirth, midwives provide supportive, unbiased advice and guidance. They also help the moms-to-be prepare for their birth, educate them about healthy prenatal health practices, and plan for continued health supervision.
Nurse-midwives are primary health care providers for women, and they can work in hospitals, clinics, or private practices. Their work requires specialized graduate nursing education. There are two main paths to becoming a nurse-midwife: CNM (certified nurse-midwife) or CM (certified midwife).
To become a CNM, you must first earn a master’s degree in nursing. You can also complete a doctoral degree program in midwifery. After completing the program, you can apply for a position as a nurse-midwife. The certification requirements are similar for both types of midwives.
Nurse-midwives may specialize in gynecological services. They can work in a variety of locations, including private practice, health clinics, and concierge services. Some may also work with OB/GYNs.
